Tom joined LP Insurance Services in 2012. He has more than 30 years of experience in public sector risk management. He earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Arizona and later received his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
Tom began his career with the State of Oregon’s Risk Management Division, later joining the Salem/Keizer School District in Salem, Oregon. He then went on to spend 27 years as the Washoe County School District’s first Risk Manager in northern Nevada. In that role, Tom managed the District’s workers’ compensation, safety/loss control, property/liability insurance, self-funded health and supplemental benefit programs. During his tenure, he created the District’s self-insured workers’ compensation and liability programs, its Section 125 plan and an award-winning wellness program.
Tom is a founding member and past president of the Nevada Health Care Coalition/Nevada Health Partners, serving as a board member for over 17 years. He is also a past president of Nevada PRIMA (Public Risk Management Association).
Tom enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters as well as golfing, hiking, running, fishing, gardening and reading.
