Sub-Par Performance Settled with a Little Help from LP Claims Team

A large general contractor turned to the LP Property & Casualty Claims team after more than a year in limbo.

Background
The contractor secured a large project and utilized several sub-contractors including a roofing company to complete a County project. Within several months of completion, the building showed signs of roof leakage. Both the roofer and the general contractor worked closely to devise resolutions for the Owner. Unfortunately, after several more months, the roofer declined to make the repairs and turned the issue over to their insurance carrier who was unresponsive. 

Diagnostics
Upon learning this, the general contractor enlisted a different roofer and executed on the much-needed repairs for the County. In the interim, the company was forced to use their bond to pay for the resulting expenses.

Solutions
Once the LP Claims Team was made aware of the situation, our property & casualty claims consultant quickly researched the situation and connected with the carriers to determine the delay. Ultimately, with LP’s expert advice, the state contractor’s board and the insurance commission, our client recuperated the entire amount (in excess of $125,000) from the roofer’s carrier.
