Thankful Hearts, Giving Hands: The LP Way of Serving Our Communities

At LP Insurance Services, gratitude isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we live. Every day, we’re thankful for the trust our clients place in us, the relationships we build, and the communities that make our work meaningful. That gratitude inspires us to give back — to serve, support, and strengthen the places we call home.
Living Our Values Through Service
LP’s has always been about more than insurance. We’re a relationship-driven firm, built on trust and dedicated to helping businesses, employees, and communities thrive. Service is a natural extension of that mission — and it’s one of the ways we put our values of integrity, dedication, experience, and community into practice.

That’s why LP offers Volunteer Time Off — a benefit that gives our colleagues the flexibility to step away from their desks and into their communities. Each LP team member can take up to four hours of paid time off each month, and up to ten hours per year, to volunteer for the causes they care about most.

Whether serving meals at food banks, mentoring youth, or supporting local events, these hours represent our belief that business success and community success go hand in hand.

“Colleagues have their own reason for volunteering and supporting causes,” said Rizzie Love, LP Insurance Services Employee Benefits Training and Development Coordinator based in Las Vegas. Love shared that colleagues support several causes, from food banks and meal packaging tp Trunk or Treats and the Las Vegas Buddy Walk.
“For some, participation is personal,” Love says. “For others, it is providing some hope to those less fortunate or a desire protect the most vulnerable of our community. Whatever the reason, the common denominator is community and a willingness to provide either their time, talent or treasure.”
Leadership In Many Forms
Our commitment to community doesn’t stop at volunteering. Many LP colleagues serve in nonprofit and trade association leadership roles across the West — helping guide nonprofits, shape industries, and strengthen civic life.
From the Chairman of the Renown Foundation to board members at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, and Community Services Agency Development Corporation, our team members are invested in improving the health, education, and wellbeing of our neighbors. Others contribute through Rotary, the Ruby Mountain Lions Club, Our Center, and Northern Nevada Pride, while still others serve in professional leadership positions with Society for Human Resource Management Northern Nevada, National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, the Nevada League of Cities, and the Nevada Independent Insurance Agents Association.
These commitments reflect LP’s belief that leadership is service — and that when our people give their time and expertise, they multiply the good that LP stands for.

In his leadership role with The Association for Independent Insurance Agents, Jared Rossi, LP Insurance Services Commercial Lines Broker, keeps a finger on the pulse for local businesses and residents. From lobbying against third party legal financing, which impacts auto-insurance coverage, to working to make it easier for carriers to do business in the state thereby creating more options for businesses, Rossi says his time spent on these issues ties directly to LP’s mission to strengthen communities. Rossi’s looking out to the future and advocacy for a more favorable operating environment creates opportunities for others to thrive.
Matching Gifts and Dollars for Doers
LP supports these efforts through its Matching Gift Program, matching employee donations up to $250 annually to eligible charities and schools. And for those who go above and beyond — contributing more than 30 hours of personal volunteer time per year — our Dollars for Doers program provides a $250 grant to the nonprofit they serve.
These programs reflect our commitment to recognizing and amplifying the generosity of our people.
Grounded in Gratitude
This season — and every season — we’re thankful for the opportunity to serve. Giving back isn’t just an act of generosity; it’s a reflection of who we are as a firm. It reminds us that we’re all connected, that small acts of service create stronger communities, and that gratitude grows when it’s shared.
“We invest talent, time and treasure in support of the communities we serve, believing that when communities thrive, so do the people and businesses within them,” says Brian Cushard, CEO and President of LP Insurance Services.
As we look ahead, we’re proud to continue expanding not only across the West, but in our impact — empowering our people to give thanks through action and build futures that are stronger together.
